Jessica & Charlie

This past Saturday night I photographed the wedding of Jessica and Charlie in Fort Worth at 809 Vickery. This is a cool new place that I haven't been before. It was a great night.

Here's the best man and his wife. They should print this one.
This photo is probably my favorite of the night. I like shots that are a close crop where the entire subject(s) are not in the photo.
Her friend leaned in right as I was taking the photo.
This was the most competitive bouquet toss I've seen.
A lot of great dancing.
This is the bride and her mother. Jessica and her family are from Washington State, but they all got into the Fort Worth spirit by wearing boots after the wedding.
I usually don't take food pictures, but this one was funny. Jessica's bridesmaids were really funny.

Charlie isn't a big fan of photos, but every time she kissed him I got a good smile.
The ceremony took place in the courtyard which is cool because you can see the FTW skyline in the background.
I like these moments right before the wedding.
Hey, if there's a bright orange-yellow truck anywhere near the wedding, you know I'm shooting the groomsmen near or on it. These guys were fun.

I mentioned it earlier in the blog, but these ladies were so funny.
Just fun. It's nice when I have a lot time to shoot bridal party photos.
Jessica wanted Charlie to see her before the ceremony. I like this photo.
Everyone likes silhouette photos. This is a cool shot with the buildings in the background and Charlie just hanging out at the table. I stared at this one for a few minutes after taking it.
Ha! Charlie, if you want me to take this one off the blog let me know, but I think it shows your personality. It was hot enough that I bet he wished he had went to the wedding like this.

A couple of the bridesmaids asked me during the reception what the hardest reception I had shot was and I paused...I couldn't think of a single wedding I haven't enjoyed shooting and this wedding was no exception. Who doesn't enjoy hanging out with fun people on the best day of their lives? Plus, free cake!

Congrats to Charlie & Jessica and your family and friends.

Thanks for choosing me to be your photographer,
Brian

Canon 60D

I don't usually write about my gear, but I just had to wite a quick note on a new camera body I've been using, the Canon 60D. I bought this camera body about 2 months ago and have now used it at 2 weddings and a trip. I'm really beginning to love this camera. I know it isnt the fastest, the largest sensor, or the most megapixels, but it has some type of intangible quality that makes it an awesome camera. It also has the best screen I have seen on a camera. I've been shooting my 5DmkII for almost two years, so I'm not easily swayed, but last night I opted for the 60D over my 5D.

If you're looking for a shooters camera for under $1k I recommend you checking it out.

Miguel and Maury

On May28th I photographed Miguel and Maury's wedding at Shady Oaks Country Club in FTW. It was a ton of fun. Two great families and a bunch of friends.

I thought this one felt timeless.
This is Miguel's brother's family. Love this photo. I used my ringflash.
After catching the garter.

Some great dancing that night.

She did not want to dance, but he kept trying. Make sure you look at her facial expression.

The lighting in this photo was an accident that turned out great. It's a combination of light contamination and low ISO. But I like how the brightness and the darkness meet right on the couple.

Thank you for choosing me as your photographer. I had a lot of fun.

Sincerely,
Brian

Maury Bridal

A few weeks ago I Maury and I shot her bridals. The wedding was two weeks ago, so I finally share these. She did a great job.

Music Video...The Way I'm Supposed to by Lacey Gage

I'm really excited to share a new music video with everyone. This is the video from a very talented singer/songwriter from Dallas, Lacey Gage. We discussed ideas for a long time before finally going with the video you see here. I didn't want to do just a normal, nice, sweet video, but I wanted to go for something a little different and challenging. After a little convincing Lacey was on-board and we shot what you see here.

Yes, that's Lacey in the trunk of a car. Most of this was shot with wide angle lens, led lights and some other cool camera gear I have. The actor in the video is Randy Franks. A very good actor from Dallas.

You buy Lacey Gage's album here and view her website here. The whole album is great and I recommend you downloading it.

Thanks to Lacey Gage for writing a great song and trusting me on a different idea. Also thanks to Randy Franks for doing a great job acting. This guy can really turn it on. Thanks as well to Carmen and Abe for helping with lighting and general production.

Hope everyone enjoys and check's out Lacey's album.

Thanks,
Brian
