Lawler Family

A week ago I had the opportunity to take Amira's 6 month baby photos. I was a little nervous because I know almost nothing about babies, except they're small. But Amira made it easy. She was really great and too cute. I basically laid on the floor for a couple of hours and got to hang out with this great family. That's a good way to spend a hot Sunday afternoon.

This photos is my favorite from the afternoon. I shot this with my Canon 5dMKII and 35mmf1.4. This lens was made for kids and natural light. We pulled all of the shades open and filled their living room with light. Amira did the rest.

She really liked it when her parents did this.

This was a test shot, but I find more and more I love the test shots. No one is posing and you get a natural shot.

Great smiles.

Another natural light shot with the 35mmf1.4. We talked some about how all of the photos we see from our childhood (if you're around my age) seem to have an overblown feel to them. I'm not sure if it's the film or how the paper has aged, but I like that look. I was going for that feel in some of the de-saturation and blown out backgrounds.

Thanks to the Lawler's for having me over and taking such great photos.
