Herb

Today I had the opportunity to photograph Herb at Broadway Baptist in Fort Worth, TX. Herb's a singer and needed a few portraits for some upcoming events, so he set up this shoot at a beautiful church in Fort Worth. You may not be able to tell it in the photos, but the AC in the church wasn't working, but Herb's cool enough it didn't matter.

It was tough to balance GQ in a church setting, but Herb pulled it off.
The large things on the walls behind Herb are parts of the organ, which they were tuning while we were shooting. If you haven't heard an organ being tuned, it's interesting.
The one below is one of my favorites. I like the shadow. Before this shot we talked about how sometimes during the invitation in church you kind of feel like you're alone praying. I think this shot feels that way.
The speed light behind Herb really worked well in this photo.
I liked how the light spread across the pews behind him.

Thanks Herb for being a great model and good luck with your upcoming singing events.

Gear: Canon 5DMkII, Canon 24-70Lf2.8, Canon 430EX's, multiple light modifiers
