Make Up Artist Shoot

I had a pretty busy weekend. I shot a really fun wedding with Sid & Heather (pictures to come in a week or so) then I had the opportunity to shoot with Michelle who's a very good make up artist in Fort Worth. The hardest part of this shoot was picking just a few photos to post. Michelle invited her friends Blanca and Keisha over and we shot for a few hours.

I like how her arm frames the photo.

Keisha, did this joking around, but it was too fun not to show. Every shot doesn't have to be too serious.

After shooting a few studio type shots we went to Trinity River Park in Fort Worth to get some skyline photos.
Michelle has this great red couch and matched Blanca's dress so we shot a few on it.

This is around 7:00PM, we caught the last few minutes of the sun hitting this building in downtown Fort Worth.

I've played soccer since I was a kid and yesterday I bought some new "boots". Copa's were designed in 1979 and haven't changed since the originals. Adidas got it right. I thought I would take a picture of them before it begins.

This photo was taken with my new Fuji X100.

Star Telegram Bridal Show

Yesterday I had the opportunity to be an exhibitor at the Star Telegram Bridal Show at the Gaylord Hotel in Grapevine. It was a lot fun and I met a bunch of people.

Shawn & Reagan Wedding Video

I finally finished Shawn and Reagan's wedding video. I've already posted the stills, but at this wedding I used three different cameras to photograph and video the days events. It was a challenge doing both but I think the results came out. I love how sparklers look on video.

The chapel they were married at, Aristide, had great lights for dancing which you can see on the beginning and end of the video.

Canon 60D
A bag full of Canon L lenses.
I produced it using Final Cut and colored with Magic Bullet Looks

A picture within picture...

Usually I don't post photos of myself because I'm the one taking them. But at Shawn and Reagan's wedding this past weekend my friend Kelly took this photo right as I was taking the one below. Kind of cool to show the behind the scenes and the result together.

A few months ago I bought Pocket Wizards and they have improved the way I light my photographs. They are wireless, radio triggers and they never fail. I have the one on the right shooting through the umbrella and the one on the left shooting through a Light Sphere. When I first got serious about commercial shooting I wondered how photographers achieved such clear photos. I figured it was through buying expensive lenses and cameras. I can't deny it helps (I'm shooting with a Canon 5DMKII and Canon 24-70f2.8), but great photos come from great lighting.

Reagan & Shawn

This past Friday night I photographed Reagan and Shawn's wedding in Mansfield, TX. It was a fun night.

I saw these shoes at the bridal shoot, cool.







His grandpa was cool.





I always like these during the exit. Makes cool light and smoke.

Reagan's Bridal Shoot

This past Friday was Reagan and Sean's wedding so that means i can finally share Reagan's bridal shoot with everyone. We had a lot of fun even though it was really hot. We shot in the Las Colinas Canals.

Reagan likes to joke around so it's pretty easy to get her to laugh.


The shot below was my favorite from the day. Cool shoes.
This was also a great shot and she chose to print this. I've really been trying to use a hair light more and you can see the effect here on the right side of her hair. Looks like the sun shooting through, but it's actually one of my speedlights on a Pocket Wizard directly behind her.
