Trailer Park Chic

I wrote last time that I'm trying to expand my portrait portfolio. I came up with this idea a while back. There's a trailer park across the street from my studio. I really wanted to shoot something over there. So asked Rachel to come out and bring her curlers. I think it turned out pretty well.

Thanks to Rachel for running with my crazy idea.

Ice Cream

Looking through my portfolio and thinking about the type of images I want to shoot, I've realized I'm not shooting the images I want to make. Some of that's been because of moving into a studio and fully understanding the lights and how everything works. But I'm making a conscious effort to shoot what I want my style to be. I want my pictures to be humorous (most of the time) and tell a story.

I've had this idea about ice cream in my head for a few weeks. Sammie volunteered to come in and bring her boyfriend Luke. This picture is almost exactly what was in my head, so I'm pleased with it. I like how her hair shows movement along with his facial expression.
And yes, we did eat the ice cream later.

Thanks to Sam and Luke for helping me create this image.

First Magazine Shoot!

I finally get to share this. Last month I did my first magazine shoot. It was for Truckers News magazine. One of my photos even made the cover. I was fortunate to get to ride with two of the engineers that designed the truck and the writer, Jack, from Truckers News. This truck is awesome. Peterbuilt designed it new from the ground up. It has an automatic transmission and runs like a pickup. It even uses a new radar equipped cruise control. It's an incredible truck.

Check out the photos and let me know what you think. We also shot some video, but it's not posted yet.
Thanks,
Brian
