Jessi

Today I shot with Jessi. My green background paper finally came in so we took a few shots with it.

This shot is using my Orbis Ringflash. I think it turned out awesome.
I get tired of shots where everything is perfect.

This is a really great headshot.
Thanks to Jessi for shooting with me. Great work.

Thanks,
Brian

Loree & the new Canon 5DMKIII

Big news this week. Canon released the new Canon 5DMKIII (aka 5d3). I've shot the Canon 5DMKII (5d2) for over two years now and taken over 40,000 photos (that's like 55 photos a day) with it. It produces great images, but it had one main problem, AUTO FOCUS. How they built such a great camera with horrible auto focus I don't know, but I've overlooked it as much as possible due to the great image quality. After my last wedding I was just about fed up with it though. I was considering switching to Nikon. Canon announced the 5d3 a few weeks ago and they fixed the AF. So luckily for me I'm staying with Canon. Not only did they fix the auto focus, but they gave me a whole bunch of other stuff that is just bonus. I'll review the 5d3 after I've shot it for a few weeks, but I can already tell you after one shoot, the auto focus is fixed.

So now that's out of the way. The release of the 5d3 coincided with me having a shoot Tuesday evening with Loree. She's a very cool bank lender from Dallas. Make sure you click on the photos to see the larger images.

This is a perfect head shot. The pose and expression, along with the composition are perfect.

The studio has this fan that I never use because it's like a plane propeller. But we gave it a try. I wanted a cool shot of her hair blowing back in her face. I think this an interesting shot.

There's random stuff in the studio. This bass was in the supply closet so we shot some with it. Loree's strong, this bass is massive.
This shot feels like summer.

Thanks to Loree for shooting with me and the new Canon 5DMKIII.

April

Tonight I had the pleasure of shooting with April. In word, Range. April has so many different looks it's unfair. Plus she's a lot of fun.

This shot is just incredible. The light and expression are awesome. I pushed the color to more green and it really works here.
I think this turned out well. April's tough for doing this pose in heels. This is an old green trunk we have at the studio.

RING FLASH!
Great attitude in this one.

This is my first jump shot in the studio. At first I was having her jump off of a chair, but I underestimated how high she can jump. So April came up with the idea to just look like she's floating, much better. This is a cool shot. Reminds me of perfume and makeup adds.
Thanks to April for just doing an awesome job.

Thanks,
Brian
