Early Signs of Spring

Today I noticed our peach tree was already blossoming. I used my Canon 100f2.8IS L and 5DMKII to get a few macro photos, here's one.

As much as I like cold weather, I'm ready for spring and everything to turn green.

Breckenridge

Last week Carmen and I went to Breckenridge, Co. It was awesome.

Here's a picture they took of me snowboarding. We found these funny toboggans. Mine is a buffalo.
I only took one lens on this trip, my new Canon 50mmf1.2. I liked the blue of these newspaper boxes against the snow.

Walker Family

A few weeks ago I had the great opportunity to take a few family and baby photos with my friends the Walker's. They are a great looking family and I had a fun time.

Once again, I always like my light test photos.

I hope Gary likes this photo as much as I do. She finally smiled and it was worth the wait.

Thanks to my friends the Walkers for having me over. You have a beautiful family.

Thanks,
Brian

Music Video, Survive by Calling Matthew

I'm happy to share with you something that I've been working on since this past summer. It's the music video for the song Survive from Calling Matthew's forthcoming album. To hear more of his music go to http://www.myspace.com/callingmatthew or iTunes under Calling Matthew.

For best viewing, start the video, then pause until it completely loads.

Survive by Calling Matthew from Blevo on Vimeo.

Calling Matthew is a singer/songwriter who lives in Dallas and is from Tulsa. His name is Matt Montgomery and he's a great songwriter and musician. He and I started discussing this video in May 2010. We shot the video in July. He just recently finished mixing the audio for his new album so we're ready to share the video with everyone. Matt's one of the most creative people I've ever met and is a true renaissance man.

The actress in the video is Amber Ryan, she's an awesome model from Dallas and this was her first acting gig. She did a great job and really gave the video a professional feel. Not only was she easy to direct but she gave some good insight and helped with the direction of the video.

Shooting a video like this takes more than one person running a camera so a few thanks. Thanks to Abe for carrying my light and 40lb battery, my wife Carmen for helping me produce the video, listening to the song 1,000+ times and taking photos during the first shoot and my friend Kelly for taking pictures and running the audio during the second shoot.

You can see behind the scenes photos by clicking on these links;

Thanks to everyone who helped and I hope you enjoy the video as much as I enjoyed making it.

Snowday

This week in Fort Worth we had the coldest few days I can remember in a long time. Which is good for me because I love cold weather. I got out and walked around my neighborhood today and took a few photos.

Here's my dog Kaya after playing Frisbee in the snow.

My wife took this picture of me taking a picture of our house. I like pictures of me taking pictures.

I've driven past this sign a million times, but it seemed different in the snow.

Here's my dream house.
I liked the line of the hangers with the snow.
The snow on the ground makes for a clean base showing lines and brings out the blue in the sky.

I wish it was this cold everyday.
