Rain

It rained most of the morning today, so I wanted to find a way to photograph rain. I really liked how this rose just hung on to every drop. Click the photo to see a larger version.

I shot this using my Canon 35mmf1.4 and Canon 40D.

Classics

Last Saturday Jessica and I shot her bridals. She had the great idea to shoot with a couple of classic cars. While I can't show any of the photos with her in them, I did want to share a picture of each car.

I always like old trucks. This is a Ford F100. It's the perfect shade of red.
I can't remember what type of car this is, but I really like the lines. When I converted it to black and white it really felt like an old photograph.

Jessica and Andrew

In my last blog I mentioned I got to shoot a double header, here's the second half of my engagement Saturday.

I shot with Jessica and Andrew last Saturday afternoon/evening all over Decatur. I always enjoy shooting, but these two made it fun. They're the kind of couple that will do anything and I pushed them. We even climbed up on top of a building in the square in Downtown Decatur just to get a great shot (and just too say we did).

This is on Jessica's family's land near Decatur. The blue of the sky was great. I used my ringflash to give a nice fade to the light.

this is an old gas station in Decatur made of petrified wood. Look at their feet, they posed this way with out me asking and with out either of them knowing it.
Not your usual engagement photo, but they were watching me while I was messing with my camera so I took this shot. Maybe a little serious, but they look great together.
We found these old chairs behind a building and took a few shots with them. I like to shoot people at different levels so Andrew jumped up on what was left of this chair and got a great shot.
Thanks for shooting with me. I had a great time and hope both of you did as well. I'm looking forward to your wedding in a few weeks.

Thanks,
Brian

Susan and Steven

Saturday I had a "double header" of engagement shoots. Both were fun and very different from each other.

Saturday morning I met Susan and Steven in Burleson at the Loan Oak Winery. This a very cool place and we had great weather. I've driven by this place a bunch and never noticed how nice it is. We had full access to the whole vineyard.

This photo's in their main vineyard on the backside of the property. These vines had climbed 6 ft tall.

After shooting at the vineyard for a couple of hours we headed to the Times Ten Cellar off of 7th Street in the cool part of Fort Worth that's just outside of downtown.
Times Ten also let us take photos where ever we wanted. This is their barrel room.
This was a fun shot. They have large tanks in the back behind glass.

Thanks to Susan and Steven for shooting with me. I'm looking forward to the wedding in October.
