Survive Music Video: Shoot 2

Last night we had shoot 2 for Survive the music video for Calling Matthew. We shot in downtown Fort Worth and everything went great.
Thanks to Abe for being our light engineer. That's a tough job!
Thanks to Kelly for photographing the event and handling the sound.

Here's me working the Glidetrack. At some point I'm going to write a review on it.
This is a cool picture. You'll notice some stair stepping behind the camera. Abe, good job holding the light up.
I like the shots where she captured what's on the video screen.
Amber did a great job. She's a natural actress. Look and attitude.
Matt can sing. We're in the middle of downtown Fort Worth and he's belting the song out like he's on stage. People we're stopping to watch and find out what's going on but he just kept singing. Great job.
You see the backpack Abe's wearing, there's a 30lb battery in there powering the light.
We should have the video finished by September in time for Calling Matthew's new release.

Thanks to Abe, Kelly, Amber and Matt for making this thing work.

Herb

Today I had the opportunity to photograph Herb at Broadway Baptist in Fort Worth, TX. Herb's a singer and needed a few portraits for some upcoming events, so he set up this shoot at a beautiful church in Fort Worth. You may not be able to tell it in the photos, but the AC in the church wasn't working, but Herb's cool enough it didn't matter.

It was tough to balance GQ in a church setting, but Herb pulled it off.
The large things on the walls behind Herb are parts of the organ, which they were tuning while we were shooting. If you haven't heard an organ being tuned, it's interesting.
The one below is one of my favorites. I like the shadow. Before this shot we talked about how sometimes during the invitation in church you kind of feel like you're alone praying. I think this shot feels that way.
The speed light behind Herb really worked well in this photo.
I liked how the light spread across the pews behind him.

Thanks Herb for being a great model and good luck with your upcoming singing events.

Music Video: Survive Behind the scenes shots.

So I'm trying something kind of new. I'm working on a music video for a great singer/songwriter, Calling Matthew. The song is called Survive and will be released on his new album this fall. We were lucky enough to get a great model (and now a great actress) to join the video, Amber. Both she and Matt did a great job acting and working with me. The video should be complete by the end of August, but until then here are a few shots of us working.
