Shea

This afternoon the light was great for photography. I actually used my 50f1.8 to take some photos of my best friend Shea. Here she is playing with one of her tug toys.

This photo reminds me of pictures you see from the 1970's. They always seem to have a soft focus and light sepia/faded feel.

2009

I've been looking through my photos from 2009, I had a lot of fun and learned a lot. The primary thing I learned was how to see light and control it. A lot of times photographers get rapped up in the cameras and lenses, when really any camera/lens combo can take a great photograph if you can control the light. Now that's not to say I won't buy another camera or lens, but I've learned a $200 speedlight (external flash) can have a far greater effect than any lens I can buy. Here are a few photos from last year that were created with external lights.

Kim & Jose First shoot of 2010

It's been a while since I've posted anything and this year I'm going to try and do a better job in keeping this thing current. So here I go.

I had the opportunity to shoot a very nice couple, Kim and Jose. They are getting married on January 30th, 2010. They wanted to squeeze in a few more engagement shots before the big day. We had a fun time shooting in Jose's parents yard and in the Stockyards.

The blue/green wall in the last shot was awesome. I'm sure I'll be back.
